Other Columbine Adoptions!
Other Columbine families have adopted children. Ann and Joe Kechter, parents of Columbine victim
Matt Kechter, adopted a child who had been under foster care. An article about their adoption and ours was included
in the Sept. 28 Rocky Mountain News. Just recently Brian and Lisa Rohrbaugh adopted a boy and a girl from the

A common statement among us is that we realize the children we adopt will not "replace" the ones we lost,
nor does adoption remove the terrible pain we feel. But these children do bring us a special joy, and the time
we would have given to our lost ones can be given to these adopted ones. These children were all abandoned or
troubled children who would have faced a difficult life. Now they have been given new hope-as have we.
