A Look Back at the Columbine Anniversaries

On each anniversary of the Columbine tragedy I wrote a few relections on what happened or how we were doing. Actually, these anniversaries are special days for the community, the media and the world, not for us. Unfortunately this is the time people look back and reflect on the tragedy, but for us it's an awful day we can't wait to end. At the same time, while it's a tough day, people need to understand we also other "anniversaries" that are tough, such as Daniel's birthday, Mothers and Fathers Days, Thanksgiving, Easter, graduation day, etc. etc.

But since everyone still thinks of this tragic day, I'll share a few thoughts on them. The reflections start with the most recent anniversary...

The fifth anniversary of Columbine (2004). While we had no sightings of deer, Madeline again made our day with one cute little unexpected action...

The fourth anniversary. Madeline and dandelions...

The third anniversary...

The second anniversary...Well, actually this one was written 18 months after Columbine, in between 1 and 2, and it was more reflective rather than descriptive of our day...
