    Dear Mr. Mauser,

I am writing this from France, and a few days ago I remembered the Columbine tragedy and the loss every parent suffered that day. I have just discovered your memorial website for your son. I spent part of the night with tears in my eyes reading all of its sections. I smiled at your family photos and was happy that Daniel was able to travel to France a month before he died (I hope he enjoyed his trip). You, your wife, and your daughter are very brave. You are truly role models for Americans, but also for the whole world. Daniel seemed to be a very good, loving, and loved person. I am sure he is watching over you from above and is very proud of his family. I will never forget his angelic face and his story.

    Sending you love and strength,

    Chloé

    Hi Tom,

Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful book with us and for your relentless fight to end gun violence. I’m 22 and wasn’t even born when Columbine happened but I want you to know that Daniels death has affected me alot, I think because he reminds me so much of people I know and love. In Australia there was one massacare in 1996, ONE and the government got rid of guns completely and guess what? There hasn’t been another gun massacre since, coincidence? I think not…i don’t know why Daniel, someone who was so smart, kind, amazing and had a loving family had to die when the likes of me with all my faults gets to live, if I could I would give up my life in a second if it meant that you and Daniel could have one more moment with each other . But I know I can’t do that so instead I want to share a song with you, it’s a song we have in my country (Ireland) and it’s called Danny boy, it reminds me so much of Daniel, the version by the pogues is the best and I think it might provide a small little bit of comfort to you, also if there is anything at all you think a little nobody Irish girl can do to help stop gun violence in America please please let me know. Wishing you and your family all the best and a very merry Christmas.

    -Lucy ☺️☺️
